Overview
Eating disorders often develop during childhood, adolescence, and the transition to adulthood. Screening can help identify eating disorders early and find children and youth who may be at risk. Finding and treating an eating disorder early can lead to better health and recovery.
About Eating Disorder Treatment
Effective eating disorder treatment often includes a team of behavioral health, nutrition, and medical providers. Treatment addresses the person’s physical and nutritional needs while also providing mental health support. Family support and support from peers with lived experience can also be helpful when appropriate.
