The status of monitored beaches is based on beach water quality monitoring that occurs between May 21, 2018 through September 28, 2018. Although there may be similar issues occurring at other beaches, advisories are only issued for beaches that are actively being monitored within this sampling window. Limited resources make it difficult to get to all beach locations in any given year, or to monitor for an entire 12 months.
This monitoring data is used for recreational swimming and bathing purposes only. Read about shellfish harvesting below if you plan to harvest shellfish.

Shellfish - including clams, mussels, oysters, scallops and crab - can sometimes become contaminated with toxins that can make you sick. Always check the status of a beach where you plan to harvest shellfish.
