Crisis and Emergency Risk Communication (CERC)

Local health official being interviewed by TV reporterDuring public health emergencies, the Oregon Health Authority’s Public Health Division (OHA-PHD) works with local and tribal health authorities to make sure all Oregonians get health and safety information that is timely and accurate. We help develop outreach materials in a variety of formats (websites, social media, print, radio, television) and we provide our partners with training and technical assistance in crisis and emergency risk communication (CERC).

ALERT! CDC has recently updated their immunization information related to vaccines and autism. We are in the process of reviewing the toolkits to remove any information that contradicts scientific consensus and the recommendations of trusted clinician organizations. In the meantime, we ask partners who are using the toolkits to review and pull any CDC links that suggest  a linkage between the two prior to release of any of the tools you chose to use.
