The Statewide Taskforce for Antimicrobial Resistance (STAR) is an advisory committee made up of representatives from Oregon Health Authority, public health, healthcare, and academic institutions.
The goals of the advisory committee are to:
- Advise the Oregon Public Health Division’s Healthcare-Associated Infection (HAI) Program on strategies to prevent and control high-priority multidrug-resistant organisms (MDROs).
- Foster collaboration among public health agencies, healthcare systems, and academic institutions.
- Develop toolkits and resources to support MDRO prevention and response efforts.
- Lead education efforts to build capacity and awareness around MDRO prevention in healthcare settings.
- Provide guidance and support to healthcare partners addressing MDRO challenges across Oregon.
