Overdose in Oregon
Opioids and methamphetamine are the most common substances involved in overdoses across Oregon. They are often used together. The mixing of one or more drugs together is called “polysubstance use.” Whether done on purpose or not, polysubstance use is never safe. Combining drugs can make their effect stronger. This increases the risk of overdose, injury and death. In 2024, 60% of all drug overdose deaths involved both fentanyl and methamphetamine.
