The Environmental Quality Commission adopted rule changes regarding the Vehicle Inspection Program that include an update to reciprocity provisions for vehicles that are temporarily operating less than 150 miles outside of the Oregon border, clarify testing exemptions for new vehicle models, and codify the remote on-board diagnostic test method.

DEQ convened an advisory committee to review the technical issues and fiscal impacts related to the proposed rules. In convening this committee, DEQ appointed members that reflect the range of entities that are both directly and indirectly affected by proposed changes to the rules.
