ASAM Levels of Care for Licensing and Certification

Moving to Fourth Edition of The ASAM Criteria

To maintain certification as an Oregon substance use disorder or co-occurring disorders treatment provider, providers must provide care aligned with "The ASAM Criteria, Fourth Edition" effective July 1, 2027.

  • Providers with renewal reviews that occur before this date will have their current ASAM levels of care extended through June 30, 2027.
  • To ensure continued eligibility for Medicaid reimbursement, providers must be licensed and/or certified for each level of care approved on their license/certificate.
