Affordability Committee

Overview

The Oregon Health Policy Board established the Committee on Health Care Affordability in 2025 to develop and recommend cost reduction and cost growth reduction policies and initiatives that address the primary drivers of health care costs, and amplify the voice of patients, consumers, and purchasers in health care policy decisions. The Committee aims to challenge the status quo and promote innovative solutions for more affordable health care.

Recruitment

The Committee is currently recruiting for a member with a health care purchaser perspective. This perspective is defined as "employers, business coalitions, labor organizations, consumer groups and government agencies that arrange or negotiate health coverage on behalf of a group of people." If you or someone you know is interested in serving on the Committee, apply by Friday, February 6, 2026.
