Cost Growth Target Public Hearings

Overview

The Cost Growth Target program holds annual public hearings to discuss cost growth trends and cost growth drivers, as well as strategies to slow the rate of health care cost growth.

  • The initial cost growth target public hearing was held on April 8, 2022 and focused on the impact of high and rising health care costs to people in Oregon.
  • The May 17, 2023 cost growth target public hearing focused on cost growth in Oregon between 2020-2021. This was the first time that cost growth was publicly reported for health plans and provider organizations.
  • The September 14, 2023 public hearing will be an opportunity to hear perspectives from health plans and provider organizations about their cost growth in 2020-2021 and what actions they are taking or plan to take to address health care cost growth.

Do you have a story about the high cost of health care?
Please share your experience with us. You can email a written story to HealthCare.CostTarget@oha.oregon.gov or provide spoken comment at the September 14 public hearing.
