Oregon Very Small Systems

Effective January 1, 2022, water systems serving 4 to 14 service connections and commercial or public premises used by 10 to 24 people at least 60 days per year have been renamed Oregon Very Small (OVS) from State Regulated. New Oregon Administrative Rules 333-061-0100 retain the most important elements for public health protection and are more achievable for water suppliers with limited resources. Updated monitoring schedules can be viewed at Data Online.

OVS system regulatory oversight will continue to be provided primarily by local county health departments and the Oregon Department of Agriculture. To contact your county's regulator, please refer to the County Contact Directory. You can also contact the Drinking Water Services Small System Specialist at 503-956-2118 or with questions about OVS system requirements.

OVS systems are now eligible for free technical assistance through the Circuit Rider Program
