Sobering Facilities

Purpose

Registered sobering facilities provide acutely intoxicated people with a safe place to stay while the chemical effects of the intoxicants subside to the point at which they are safely able to leave the facility under their own volition.

Sobering facilities offer a variety of treatment options and referrals to help individuals transition and engage in a recovery program or the community.
These facilities are also resource centers, providing information on a variety of social service options.

Services of this type are focused on safety and may last anywhere from four to 48 hours.
