Agency Announcements:

  • Recently we sent out a number of notifications of outstanding invoices for Death Filing Fees. For those who need additional assistance with paying death filing fees through the online portal, please contact Pete Burns, Education and Compliance Program Manager at 971-673-1503 or pete.burns@omcb.oregon.gov
  • Recent update regarding Eternal Hills Cemetery in Klamath Falls, Oregon: On Thursday June 17th, the bankruptcy judge filed a Memorandum Opinion and Order. These provide direction for the sale of the property. OMCB is coordinating with the Oregon Department of Justice, the Trustee and local interested parties to proceed as directed by the Order.
    • On August 13, 2021 Judge Renn (the US Bankruptcy Judge) extended the deadline to September 15, 2021 for the Gordon Trust to close an assignment of Gordon's Trust purchase of Eternal Hills from the Trustee to a qualified assignee.
    • Any, and all, cemetery facility applications received by our agency are considered confidental until a certificate of authority to operate is granted by our Board.

  • In an effort to help slow the spread of COVID-19 in Oregon and protect employees and the public, the Oregon Mortuary and Cemetery Board staff will be changing the way we provide services at our office. Until further notice, the OMCB office will remain open but will be closed to the general public. We will have a staff member in the office on a limited basis Monday- Wednesday and all OMCB staff will be available by phone and email throughout the work week. If necessary, in-person interactions between staff and the public can be made by appointment only. Please contact us if you have questions.
