From monitoring and assessing the quality of our air, water and soil, through regulation that reduces pollution, and looking ahead to what climate change may bring, DEQ supports businesses, communities, and municipalities statewide to preserve and protect Oregon's natural resources and human health.

Through water and soil sampling and air monitors, DEQ is able to measure the health of Oregon's environment, highlighting where action is most needed.

FOSTERING INNOVATION

DEQ's grants, loans, and our clean energy and waste management campaigns provide opportunities for businesses, consumers and municipalities.

REGULATION

DEQ's regulatory efforts for industrial activities helps to minimize pollution and protect human health, wildlife, and the state's ecosystems.

Key programs: Cleaner Air Oregon, Total Maximum Daily Loads, Vehicle Inspection, Permitting, Onsite Septic Systems, Asbestos Licensing

RESPONSE

DEQ is there to help communities and individuals manage the impacts when the worst happens, including oil spills, superfund sites, wildfire cleanup, and contaminated properties.
