OHA is committed to developing a culture of improvement and transformation across the health delivery system. Leadership development within the context of health systems will support individuals and organizations to adopt leadership models that develop and foster the mental models, knowledge base, skills and tools to achieve effective, visionary leadership across health systems and sectors. Leadership development may include knowledge of how leadership practices influence staff motivation and team work; strategies for strengthening leadership at the individual, team, and system levels; the ways different health care contexts support effective leadership or reduce its effectiveness, and how to plan and coach for staff succession.
