Peer-to-Peer CAC Meetings

The Transformation Center currently hosts two virtual peer-to-peer CAC meetings:

CAC Coordinator Meeting: This meeting serves as a peer-to-peer space for CAC coordinators to discuss the work of their respective CACs. It meets on the fourth Thursday of each month from 2-3:30 p.m.

CAC Learning Collaborative Meeting: This group advises the Transformation Center on how best to support CACs statewide. It is open to any CAC member, CAC coordinator or CCO staffperson supporting CACs. It meets on the second Tuesday of each odd numbered month from 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Note this group will not be meeting for the remainder of 2020, and will reconvene next on January 12, 2021 from 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m.

New: Starting in December, the Transformation Center will be hosting a learning collaborative for CAC members serving on CCO governing boards. Click here to view the official announcement. Please contact Tom Cogswell with any questions about the collaborative.

Webinars, Events & Other CAC Learning Opportunities

REALD Learning Series for CCOs

  • The OHA Transformation Center and OHA Division of Equity & Inclusion are announcing a learning series focused on the use of REALD (Race, Ethnicity, Language and Disability) for CCOs. REALD is an effort to increase and standardize race, ethnicity, language and disability data collection across DHS and OHA. This series will cover an introduction to REALD, impact on health equity work, strategies for asking REALD questions and using REALD data to advance health equity work.

Informational Session: Connecting the Work of Community Health Improvement Plans (CHPs) and the State Health Improvement Plan (SHIP). 11/5, 10-11 a.m.

Healthier Together Oregon, the 2020-2024 State Health Improvement Plan, is a guiding document for CHPs undertaken by public health, hospitals and CCOs. The goal of Healthier Together Oregon is to advance health equity for priority populations around the state. New with CCO 2.0: The health priorities, goals and objectives identified in CCO CHPs must include at least two SHIP priorities and utilize identified strategies. This informational session will provide an overview of the SHIP, the CHP-SHIP connection (including alignment of strategies) and an update on OHA's collaborative CHA/CHP development curriculum. This session will also include discussion of next steps for supporting CCOs and their collaborative partners in this work.

CAC Case Study Webinar. 12/3, noon-1 p.m.
Renee Markus Hodin from the national heatlh care organization Community Catalyst will present findings from the Oregon CAC case study, "Supporting Meaningful Engagement through Community Advisory Councils: Lessons from the Oregon Health Authority." For the case study, 15 individuals were interviewed, either in person or by phone, to provide insight into OHA's support for CACs.
