Upcoming Regional Trainings
The Oregon STD Program is hosting a series of four regional trainings throughout the state. The focus for this year's set of trainings is gonorrhea and syphilis.

Our goal is to provide a concise overview of the information local health departments need to successfully manage gonorrhea and syphilis cases, to ensure that people receive adequate treatment, and help prevent future infection. Trainings will include a mix of learning styles from classroom-type learning, to small group discussions and role plays, to simulated case work in Orpheus.

Some of the topics that will be covered at the regional training are: treatment for gonorrhea, taking a sexual history and conducting partner services, a review of syphilis screening and staging, STD program and Orpheus updates, and digital partner services.

The trainings are free of charge and there is no limit on the number of local health department staff who can attend.

In order to reduce travel expenses and to enhance regional county collaborations, we have grouped counties into four different regions for trainings. If the training date/location for which your county has been grouped is not convenient, you are welcome to attend a different regional training in another part of the state.

Contact the STD program for more information by email at jennifer.h.li@dhsoha.state.or.us.
