Current Rulemaking

The Board of Certified Advanced Estheticians and the Board of Cosmetology are participating in a collaborative rulemaking process to delineate the scope of practice between esthetics and advanced esthetics as well as qualification and practice standard requirements. Topics include but are not limited to the following:
  • Micro-needling;
  • Chemical peels;
  • Reciprocity; and
  • Nationally recognized program.
Proposed rules for the Board of Certified Advanced Estheticians are expected to be file with the Secretary of State's Office for publication in the June 2019, Oregon Bulletin. Once filed all interested parties and stakeholders are invited to provide written comments from June 1, 2019 through June 30, 2019, at 5 p.m.
 
A public administrative rule hearing has been scheduled for June 26, 2019, from 9 a.m. to noon at the Health Licensing Office, 1430 Tandem Ave. NE, Suite 180, Salem, OR 97301. Administrative rules are scheduled to become permanent and effective on October 1, 2019. Please note that the schedule is subject to change.
