CCO Traditional Health Worker Deliverables

Introduction

The traditional health worker commission and stakeholders assist in developing recommendations to promote health equity and achieve the overarching goals of becoming a healthier Oregon. Some of these goals include investing in health care through the allocation of resources to improve population health and ensure accountability and transparency. The Traditional Health Worker (THW) deliverables present information on coordinated/managed care organizations’ work on the THW section in the CCO contracts.

The areas of deliverables all CCOs are required to address include the following domain:

  • Implementing the THW Integration and Utilization Plan
  • Developing THW Payment Model Grid
  • Submitting THW Integration Utilization Report

Parts of the documents presented are obscured for confidentiality reasons.

Objectives

  • Drive approaches to uniformly respond to community needs, and sustain the traditional health worker workforce
  • Compensation for THWs and THW-affiliated organizations
  • Information on services and access
  • Report on THW providers across the state

About the Webinar: Join us to learn about two new guidance documents on traditional health worker (THW) billing processes. This session will cover developing sustainable funding models for THW programs.  
We are pleased to have Hannah Briggs, Eastern Oregon Coordinated Care Organization's THW Liaison, share insights about their THW program, including outreach and educational efforts to increase billing for THW services in both clinical and non-clinical settings. Brittany Dunham from Good Shepherd Health Care's ConneXions program will share about their THW program and their experiences billing for THW services in Eastern Oregon.
