Oregon is working to provide limited Oregon Health Plan (OHP) benefits to youth transitioning out of carceral facilities. These include:
These benefits are known as Reentry Health Care benefits. They cover services that fall under Section 5121 of the 2023 Federal Consolidated Appropriation Act (FCAA).
When will OHP Reentry Health Care benefits be available?
Post-release services will begin Jan. 1, 2026. Pre-release services will begin no earlier than 2027.
What services does Reentry Health Care cover?
Reentry Health Care benefits will cover 30 days of pre-release services and 30 days of post-release services to support successful reentry into the community.
