Community-Based Organizations

Community-Based Organizations (CBOs)

Community-based organizations play a critical role in climate and health resilience.  They help ensure local outreach, education, and services are culturally and linguistically grounded, accessible, and shaped by community priorities.  Their trusted relationships and lived experience strengthen relevance, reach, and effectiveness.

OHA is dedicated to supporting local climate and health leadership through funding, technical assistance, and resources.

Climate and Health Funding for Community-Based Organizations

OHA’s Public Health Equity Grant funds CBOs to lead and promote community health and well-being projects, which include climate and environmental health projects. The current grant cycle runs from January 2026 – June 2027 and is closed for applications. Stay connected with OHA for the most up-to-date announcements.
