Innovator Agents

Helping Coordinated Care Organizations Advance Health System Transformation

Section 14 of Senate Bill 1580 (2012) required the Oregon Health Authority (OHA) to assign an innovator agent to each coordinated care organization (CCO).

Under Oregon’s Medicaid demonstration, the role has expanded to ensure ongoing collaboration with CCOs, providers, community partners, and various OHA programs to support the following outcomes:

  • Promote continued innovation and implementation of the coordinated care model;
  • Implement learning and improvement strategies for CCOs and communities;
  • Streamline and enhance communication between OHA and the CCOs;
  • Extend health system transformation to support community health needs and address local health disparities.
Innovator agents can also help connect OHA staff and partners to the right person within their assigned CCOs for many questions or concerns.

Innovator Agent Assignments

Each innovator agent is uniquely positioned to directly engage with their CCOs, CCO Community Advisory Councils and CCO Governing Boards to support them in their health system transformation successes and challenges.
