Seeking Rules Advisory Committee Members

​​The Respiratory Therapist & Polysomnographic Technologist Licensing Board (Board) is currently seeking interested parties to serve as experts on a Rules Advisory Committee (RAC) for the respiratory therapy & polysomnography professions in Oregon. Topics under review include but are not limited to definitions, licensing and examination requirements, attestation of certain certifications, training and reporting, continuing education standards and practice standards.

Upcoming HLO Closures Due to State Holidays

​Mark your calendar and note that the Health Licensing Office (and all State of Oregon agencies) will be closed on the following days:

  • Monday, January 20, 2020, for Martin Luther King Jr. Day
  • Monday, February 17, 2020, for Presidents' Day

​Since the passage of House Bill 2432 (2017), and subsequently Senate Bill 29 (2019), are you wondering if you should be licensed in the State of Oregon as an Art Therapist or a Certified Art Therapist? The Health Licensing Office has come up with some example scenarios to assist you in "Art Therapy: Who is required to be licensed and who isn't?"

Art Therapy Program to Begin Issuing Licenses January 2, 2020

While House Bill 2432 (2017) created the Art Therapy Program under the Health Licensing Office (HLO), problematic bill language prevented the HLO from issuing licenses until the bill was repaired in the 2019 legislative session under Senate Bill 29.
