Behavior Analysis Regulatory Board - License Information

Behavior Analysts

To be considered for a behavior analyst license, an applicant must:

  • Submit a completed application form, which must be accompanied by payment of application fees of $150;
  • Submit two forms of acceptable identification issued by a federal, state or local government agency. Both forms of identification must include the applicant's current legal name and at least one of the forms of identification provided must be photographic. If submitting by mail, front and back of legible (clear) photocopies must be provided.
  • Arrange for proof of certification by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board Inc. as a Board Certified Behavior Analyst to be sent in from the BACB to the Office;
  • Pass a fingerprint-based nationwide criminal records check (more information);
  • If applicable, submit and Affidavit of Licensure from any state where the individual holds or has held a behavior analyst whether the license is active or inactive; and
  • Submit required license fee of $200.

Assistant Behavior Analysts

To be considered for an assistant behavior analyst license, an applicant must:

  • Submit a completed application form, which must be accompanied by payment of application fees of $125;
  • Submit two forms of acceptable identification issued by a federal, state or local government agency. Both forms of identification must include the applicant's current legal name and at least one of the forms of identification provided must be photographic. If submitting by mail, front and back of legible (clear) photocopies must be provided.
  • Arrange for proof of certification by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board Inc. as a Board Certified Assistant Behavior Analyst to be sent in from the BACB to the Office;
  • Pass a fingerprint-based nationwide criminal records check (more information);
  • Be supervised by a Behavior Analyst who is licensed by BARB;
  • If applicable, submit and Affidavit of Licensure from any state where the individual holds or has held a behavior analyst whether the license is active or inactive; and
  • Submit required license fee of $175.

Behavior Analysis Interventionists

To be considered for registration as a behavior analysis interventionist, an applicant must:

  • Submit a completed application form, which must be accompanied by payment of application fees of $75;
  • Submit two forms of acceptable identification issued by a federal, state or local government agency. Both forms of identification must include the applicant's current legal name and at least one of the forms of identification provided must be photographic. If submitting by mail, front and back of legible (clear) photocopies must be provided.
  • Submit documentation of a high school diploma or General Education Development (GED) certificate;
  • Pass a fingerprint-based nationwide criminal records check (more information);
  • Submit required registration fee of $100; and
  • Submit documentation of 40 hours of professional training in applied behavior analysis on a form prescribed by the Office in the following knowledge and skill areas, as verified by an individual listed in Senate Bill 696, Section 1(2)(a-h) or licensed by the Board (see Verification of Professional Training form):
    • Professional and ethical issues;
    • Foundational knowledge of behavioral change principles;
    • Assessment;
    • Implementation of prescribed intervention plans;
    • Data collection and documentation
