Mark your calendar and note that the Health Licensing Office (and all State of Oregon agencies) will be closed on the following day:
In the early days of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Health Licensing Office suspended continuing education rules that required in-person education and put in place Oregon Administrative Rule (OAR) 331-030-0036, which outlined remote continuing education through online courses, remote access, webinars or self-study. When the Governor lifts the state of emergency on April 1, 2022, the suspended rules reactivate, but OAR 331-030-0036 will allow authorization holders (licensees, certification or registration holders) to keep obtaining remote CE for 60 days after that date, until May 31, 2022.
The Environmental Health Registration Board, under the Health Licensing Office, has filed a permanent Oregon Administrative Rule with the Secretary of State. The change to the rule language offers Environmental Health Specialists and Waste Water Specialists a $50 discount if they renew their registrations online. The permanent administrative rule and the online discount will be effective Friday, April 1, 2022.
The Environmental Health Registration Board under the Health Licensing Office has filed proposed rules with the Oregon Secretary of State. The proposed rule language brings the rules into alignment with statutes and with the Health Licensing Office business practices. The proposed rules will be published in the November 2021, Oregon Bulletin.
