The purpose of Oregon’s State Health Improvement Plan (SHIP) is to identify population-wide priorities and strategies for improving the health of people in Oregon. The SHIP serves as the basis for taking collective action on key health issues in Oregon.
Oregon will be a place where health and wellbeing are achieved across the lifespan for people of all races, ethnicities, disabilities, genders, sexual orientations, socioeconomic status, nationalities and geographic locations.
Subcommittees for each priority began convening in August and September, 2019. These meet on a monthly basis to identify draft strategies, measures, and develop work plans for implementation. Subcommittees include PartnerSHIP members, additional subject matter experts, and people with lived experience. To find specific information about members, structure and meetings select a link below and visit the dedicated page for each subcommittee.
Strategies will be finalized with feedback from Oregon’s
most marginalized communities. Seven community based organizations have
received funding to help solicit feedback from people of color, people with
disabilities, people with low-income, and people who identify as LGBTQ+.
The Public Health Division has convened the PartnerSHIP to inform and develop the 2020-2024 State Health Improvement Plan. The Public Health Division is using the Mobilizing for Action through Planning and Partnerships (MAPP) framework, widely used by CCOs and local health departments.
