Renewals

L-Z Renewal for 2026-2027

Renewal notices will be mailed out in October. Renwal notices are not available online. 
Renewals are for folks whose first letter of their last name falls into the L-Z group.
If you don't receive your notice by November 2025, request a copy by contacting the program:

A-K Renewal for 2025-2026 - Last day to renew Dec 31, 2025

Renewals are for folks whose first letter of their last name falls into the A-K group.

Individual renewal applications are mailed to all currently certified Specialists and Testers in October of every year.

Renewal applications are NOT available online. If you do not receive your renewal application by November, please contact the program at: cross.connection@odhsoha.oregon.gov.

It is your responsibility to provide current address and other contact information and to report any changes on your certification, such as change of mailing address, phone number(s), email address, employer, or CCB/LCB number. you can update your contact information by emailing the program cross.connection@odhsoha.oregon.gov or by completing the SmartSheet form. 

Tester Renewal Requirements

  • Training: Testers must take a one or two day Backflow Tester Refresher course every two years.
    • A copy of the course completion certificate must be submitted with the renewal application.
    • First renewal: If this is your first renewal you do not need to take the tester refresher course this time.
  • Gauges: Testers must have their test gauges calibrated every 12 months. Calibrations should take place the same month every year. 
    • A copy of the last two calibarion certificates must be submitted with the renewal application.
    • First Renewal: You may not have a gauge calibration yet, or only one, that is fine, make sure you check the correct box on the renewal form.

Specialist Renewal Requirement

  • Training: Specialist must take a one day Cross Connection Specialist Refresher course every two years, or they must obtain 0.6 CEUs of backflow related meetings or trainings (not all meetings and trainings offer CEUs).
    • A copy of the course completion certificate or meeting certificates must be submitted with the renewal application
    • First Renewal: If this is your first renewal you do not need to take the refresher class or submit any additional CEUs.
