Vehicle Inspection

​​ ​All DEQ offices, including vehicle emission testing stations, will be closed Saturday, Jan. 16 through Monday, Jan. 18, 2021 in observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day.
 
The Scappoose testing station will be open an extra day on Thursday, Jan. 14, 2021 from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
 
All DEQ offices and stations will resume their normal operating hours on Tuesday, Jan. 19, 2021.

Fees and forms of payment

 

A few things to remember:

  • Please leave your pets at home
  • No smoking or tobacco use on State of Oregon property
  • Please turn off cell phones in the testing lane
  • Excessively smoking vehicles will not be tested
  • Make sure your vehicle is in good working condition
  • Vehicles that pose a safety hazard will not be tested
  • Trailers, towed vehicles or other mobile equipment must be disconnected from the vehicle prior to testing
  • Motorcycles, off-road vehicles, trailers and any other vehicle not required to have an emissions test must have VIN inspections performed at the DMV

Facemasks are required when visiting any DEQ location, including Vehicle Inspection StationsAs of Wednesday, July 1, 2020, the Governor’s orders require customers and businesses to wear face coverings and maintain six feet of physical distance in accordance with state requirements.

Due to the continuing COVID-19 emergency, the Oregon Department of Transportation's Driver and Motor Vehicles Division announced a new agreement with Oregon law enforcement agencies for an extended citation moratorium. Law enforcement will exercise discretion when presented with expired Oregon vehicle registration permits, trip permits or driver licenses.

​This only applies to documents expiring between Nov. 1, 2020, and April 30, 2021, and have only been expired for less than three months.​
