Dissolution of Marriage or Oregon Registered Domestic Partnership (Divorce) Certificates

A divorce legally ends a marriage or an Oregon Registered Domestic Partnership (ORDP). In Oregon, divorce is called “dissolution of marriage" or “dissolution of ORDP."

If you have already dissolved your marriage or ORDP and would like to order a vital records certificate:

The state Vital Records office issues a document called a Record of Dissolution of Marriage, Annulment or Registered Domestic Partnership Certificate. Divorce decrees, both certified and uncertified, are available from the county court that granted the divorce. A Record of Dissolution of Marriage, Annulment or Registered Domestic Partnership Certificate does not have all the information contained in the decree but may be used as proof of divorce.
In some cases, a court may have approved a divorce order, but the record has not yet been completed or filed. If you order a certificate and the state has not yet received your information from the county circuit court, the issuance will be delayed until court staff create the record of dissolution and file it.
