Ensuring Delivered Services are Trauma Informed

Trauma is a hidden epidemic. The Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACE) study by Kaiser Permanente found strong correlation between exposure to trauma and negative health behaviors and outcomes.  PLWH have been disproportionately impacted by the experience of trauma, and studies have found poorer treatment outcomes among PLWH who have a history of trauma. Therefore, the HIV Care and Treatment Program is dedicated to ensuring delivered services are trauma informed.

This website is intended to provide a resource for HIV case managers implementing trauma informed care.   For more information, contact the HIV Care and Treatment Work TIC Work Group. The TIC Work Group makes recommendations to the HIV Care and Treatment Program to ensure services are trauma informed.
