Ensuring Delivered Services are Trauma Informed

Trauma is a hidden epidemic. The Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACE) study by Kaiser Permanente found strong correlation between exposure to trauma and negative health behaviors and outcomes. People living with HIV (PLWH) have been disproportionately impacted by the experience of trauma, and studies have found poorer treatment outcomes among PLWH who have a history of trauma. Therefore, the HIV Care and Treatment Program is dedicated to ensuring delivered services are trauma informed.
