Working to Control the Spread of Sexually Transmitted Diseases in Oregon
Sexually transmitted diseases (STDs) are passed from person to person through vaginal, anal, and oral sex. Many people with an STD have no signs or symptoms of the infection. The only way to know if you have an STD is to get tested. Some STDs, including chlamydia, gonorrhea, and syphilis, can be cured. Other STDs have no cure but can be managed with treatment. Untreated STDs can cause serious health complications, and some can be passed to a baby during pregnancy. The STD Program provides support for testing and treatment of individuals and their partners.
