How the EV Rebate Program works

Charge Ahead Rebate suspension

Due to limited funding, the Oregon Clean Vehicle Rebate Program will suspend the Charge Ahead Rebate on Friday, Dec. 5, 2025. To qualify for this rebate, you must buy or lease your vehicle from May 22, 2025, through Dec. 4, 2025. Purchases or leases made on or after Dec. 5, 2025, will not be eligible for the Charge Ahead Rebate. If you buy or lease a vehicle within the eligible timeframe, you still have six months from your purchase or lease date to apply. Find additional details in the press release.

The Standard Rebate was suspended on Sept. 9, 2025. Vehicles purchased or leased between May 22,2025, through Sept 8, 2025, still have six months from the purchase or lease date to apply. All future approved Standard Rebate applications will be placed on a waiting list to be paid in spring 2026.

The Oregon Clean Vehicle Rebate Program offers a cash rebate for Oregon drivers who purchase or lease electric vehicles. It is not a tax credit. DEQ designed the program to reduce vehicle emissions by encouraging more Oregonians to purchase or lease electric vehicles rather than gas vehicles.
