About Multilingual and Migrant Education

The Multilingual and Migrant Education (MME) Team at the Oregon Department of Education (ODE) serves as an essential resource for Oregon’s multilingual and migrant students and their families. With a focus on culturally and linguistically responsive education, the team provides expert guidance and support to programs that empower students to achieve academic success.

Through partnership with educators, families, and community partners, the MME Team collaborates to enhance statewide services for multilingual education, students designated as English learners, migratory students, recent arrivals and newcomer students, and participants in dual language programs. We work closely with the English learner outcomes program and across the agency to support multilingual and migrant students.
