The Water Quality Management Plan is a part of the TMDL. The WQMP
provides the framework of management strategies to implement the TMDL and
attain and maintain water quality standards. The WQMP is designed to work in
conjunction with detailed implementation plans and analyses provided in
sector-specific or source-specific implementation plans. Implementation plans
are developed by responsible persons including Designated Management Agencies
that must implement pollution prevention and reduction strategies.
Willamette Basin Coordinators host meetings and workshops on timely
topics in TMDL implementation. DEQ also provides implementation resources and
guidelines to help responsible persons and DMAs plan and implement strategies
and actions to prevent and reduce pollutants from reaching
waterways.
