Complaints and Appeals

Welcome

We encourage parents and public schools to work together to solve problems or disagreements about a student’s education or school programs. The Oregon Department of Education (ODE) offers information and support to help families and schools handle concerns about students who are enrolled, or could be enrolled, in Oregon public schools from kindergarten through 12th grade. Click on the links below to learn more, including who to contact at ODE for more information about your specific concern.

Students, families, or community members who have questions about civil rights and nondiscrimination in Oregon K-12 public schools or public charter schools or about how to file a discrimination complaint should:  Contact Civil Rights Support Specialists
