Office of Research, Assessment, Data, Accountability, and Reporting (RADAR)

About Us

The Office of Research, Assessment, Data, Accountability, and Reporting (RADAR), stewards the Oregon Department of Education’s research and data justice initiatives, as well as the federal assessment and accountability requirements present in the Elementary and Secondary Education Act. The office collects, validates, analyzes, and reports data for continuous improvement, educational research, policymaking, and operations.

Mission Statement

The Office of RADAR at the Oregon Department of Education is a dedicated, collaborative, and innovative office that works with education and community partners to improve learning for Oregon’s students. We accomplish this by identifying and building from strengths present in Oregon’s educational investments, teaching practices, and educational outcomes.

Vision Statement

Our vision is to transform Oregon’s public educational system to provide relevant and challenging learning opportunities for all of Oregon’s students, especially students who are members of Oregon’s focal groups. We enact our vision by honestly, publicly, and transparently seeking and then reporting answers to three key questions:

  • “Where have we been?”
  • “Where are we now?”
  • “Where are we going?”
