Annual Calendar
The State Board of Education traditionally meets during the school year on the third Thursday of each month and adopts an annual calendar in June of each year. The Board's noticed meetings for the 2026-27 school year are as follows:
- September 17
- October 15
- December 10
- January 21
- February 18
- March 18
- April 15
- May 20
- June 17
The Board may also meet at the call of the Chair of a majority of Board members.
Observing Board Meetings
Members of the public are welcome to observe Board meetings using our livestream. The Board also posts a public notice approximately one week before each Board meeting that includes the time, date, location, tentative agenda, and opportunities for public comment for that Board meeting.

Accessing Board Materials
The Board uses a website called
BoardBook to host its meeting-related materials, including meeting agendas, previously adopted rules, public comment received, and meeting recordings. The Board encourages anyone interested in a Board meeting to review the relevant materials posted to BoardBook. If the records you are seeking are not available there, please
submit a public records request.
