P-3 Alignment

National P-3 Center
The ultimate goal of the National P-3 Center is to improve the education continuum that children experience from birth (Pre-school) through 3rd grade.
Children’s Institute
The Children’s Institute works to improve the lives of children from prenatal to age 8 who experience institutional or systemic barriers to opportunity in Oregon: children from low-income families, children of color, disabled children, dual language learners, and children in rural areas. Their research, policy and advocacy, learning initiatives, and community partnerships all aim to keep kids healthy and safe and prepare them to be active, engaged learners.
California Department of Education (CDE) P-3 Alignment
CDE seeks to elevate the role of high-quality, inclusive and multilingual preschool, strong early intervention services, and P-3 alignment in ensuring the future of California’s children.
Center on Enhancing Early Learning Outcomes (CEELO)
Since its beginnings, CEELO has been charged with helping states strengthen the alignment of birth through 3rd grade educational policies and increase the coordination of resources and policies across statewide systems.

Beyond Fadeout: Why Preschool to Elementary School Alignment Matters
This article discusses how P-3 programs that support young children’s development from birth to age 8 must become the norm, not isolated exemplars. Doing so will improve the experiences for children and strengthen our school communities to ensure children reach their full developmental potential.
