The purpose of the LGBTQ2SIA+ Student Success Program Grant program is to provide funds to applicants that document an understanding of the unique needs of LGBTQ2SIA+ students, have the potential to become exemplar programs, and who create collaborative practices relating to strategies outlined in the
LGBTQ2SIA+ Student Success Plan. Grant program applicants must demonstrate the outcomes of the grant activities are to benefit and serve LGBTQ2SIA+ students and their families.
ODE works with grantees to evaluate sustainability, replicability, best practices and lessons learned from implemented projects, programs and services. The data collected and analyzed from grantees’ projects is utilized by ODE to further refine the Plan and inform effective internal agency implementation as well as external (i.e. district and community) implementation of the LGBTQ2SIA+ Student Success Plan.
2021-2023 Grantees
In 2022-23, out of 44 applications received for the program’s first open Request for Applications (RFA), 14 grantees were funded for a total of $2 Million, with all 5 statewide regions represented. LGBTQ2SIA+ Student Success Plan grants were awarded to community-based organizations, school districts, education service districts, and higher education institutions. The Oregon Department of Education (ODE) is pleased to announce the recipients of the 2021-2023 LGBTQ2SIA+ Student Success grants:

Who is eligible to apply for this Grant Program?
According to ORS 329.847 and OAR 581-017-0753, applicants must be a:
Community-based organization;
Early Learning Hub;
Provider of early learning service;
School district; Education service district (ESD), Public charter school; or
Tribal government;
Post-secondary institution of education (colleges and universities); or
A consortium of these entities
