Innovation and Improvement

Introduction

Innovation and improvement is about making the right work easier. This new landing page offers district and school leaders the information and tools needed to engage community, assess needs, plan well, and implement six programs that have been aligned for student success and to more fully realize the full value and impact of the Student Success Act passed in 2019. The page also offers direct access to information to support current implementation.

The six programs are High School Success, Student Investment Account, Continuous Improvement Planning, Career and Technical Education, Every Day Matters and Early Indicator and Intervention Systems. They have the common elements of authentic engagement process, equity-based decision making, focus on historically marginalized students, a comprehensive needs assessment and a continuous improvement cycle. And they have the common goals of a well-rounded education, equity advanced, engaged community and strengthened systems and capacity.

Aligning for Student Success: Integrated Guidance for Six ODE Initiatives

Bringing six programs together operationally, the guidance presented here creates significant opportunities to improve outcomes and learning conditions for students and educators. Working within existing state statutes and administrative rules, ODE offers a framework for success that meets the core purposes of each program. The guidance is offered with a compendium version - pulling all sections and appendices together - and is also available section-by-section to support you accessing just what you need when you need it.
