Facilities

The Obsidian Solar Center is an approved, not yet constructed 400 megawatt (MW) solar photovoltaic (PV) energy generation facility with related or supporting facilities including a 50 MW battery energy storage system. The site boundary includes 4,091 acres (6.4 sq. miles).

Approved. On June 13, 2025, the Council approved Request for Amendment 2 of the Site Certificate (RFA2). The Council’s Final Order on RFA2 extends the date by which the certificate holder must begin construction of the facility to February 25, 2028. The construction completion deadline is three years from the date construction begins.​
