The Carty Generating Station is a 450-megawatt, combined-cycle natural gas-fueled electric generating power plant.

Operating. In December 2018, PGE received Council approval to construct and operate a 50 MW photovoltaic solar unit, an approximately 2.25 mile 34.5 kV interconnection transmission line, three interconnection options (Grassland 500 kV interconnect, Carty Unit 1 isophase interconnect, and Boardman Coal Plant interconnect), and new temporary construction laydown areas and parking areas. PGE also received approval to add area to its previously approved site boundary. These components are referred to as the Carty Solar Farm. Construction of the Carty Solar Farm must commence on or before February 4, 2022, and must be completed on or before February 4, 2025.
