The Carty Generating Station is a 450 megawatt (MW), combined-cycle natural gas-fueled electric generating power plant, and includes a not-yet-constructed 50 MW solar PV electric power generating unit (Carty Solar Farm) on 315 acres (0.49 sq. miles). The facility is located within an overall site boundary of approximately 4,997 acres.

Under Review: On February 3, 2022, the Department received preliminary Request for Amendment 3 of the Carty Generating Station Site Certificate (pRFA3), inclusive of a Type B Review Amendment Determination Request (ADR). pRFA3 seeks Council approval to extend the construction commencement and completion deadlines for the Carty Solar Farm. The Carty Solar Farm includes 50 MW of solar photovoltaic energy generation components and related or supporting facilities. The Department is reviewing pRFA3 in coordination with reviewing agencies. Following determination of completeness of pRFA3, the Department will issue a determination on the Type B Review ADR, a Draft Proposed Order (DPO) on RFA3, and Public Notice of a comment period on the complete RFA3 and DPO, all of which will be posted and available for public review on this webpage.
