Sunset Solar Project is an approved solar photovoltaic energy generation facility, which could occupy or use up to 2,196 acres (3.4 sq. miles), with a nominal generating capacity of approximately 103 megawatts alternating current (MWac). Approved related or supporting facilities that would be shared with two adjacent facilities include a 100 MW battery storage system, collector substation, operations and maintenance building, and an approximately 11 mile, 230 kilovolt transmission line. The facility site boundary includes approximately 10,640 acres (16.6 square miles).

Approved. The deadline to begin construction is April 24, 2023.  Construction must be completed by April 24, 2026.​​

​​On November 19, 2021, the Energy Facility Siting Council approved a Request for Amendment 1 of the Bakeoven Solar Project site certificate, which authorized allocation of previously approved facility components into an amended and two original site certificates for Bakeoven Solar Project, Daybreak Solar Project​, and Sunset Solar Project, respectively.  All three approved facilities now have separate site certificates and certificate holders, yet all share the related or supporting facilities originally approved in the Bakeoven Solar Project​ Final Order.
