Perennial Wind Chaser Station is approved to be a natural gas facility comprised of up to four turbines with a maximum capacity of 415 megawatts.
Under Review/Approved. The facility has not yet been built. In accordance with the existing site certificate, construction must begin three years after the effective date of the site certificate (that is, before September 23, 2018) and construction must be completed by September 23, 2021. On August 2, 2018 the Department received a preliminary request for amendment (pRFA), through which the certificate holder requests to extend each of the construction deadlines. In its pRFA, the certificate holder included a Type B review amendment determination request (ADR) and requested Department consideration of the Type B amendment review path based on the information included in pRFA. On August 22, 2018, the Department issued its determination that Type A review is the appropriate review process for the pRFA. The Department determined on June 21, 2019 that the pRFA is complete. The complete request for amendment (RFA) is available for review below.
The Department issued the Draft Proposed Order on Amendment 1 on July 8, 2019. EFSC held a public hearing on the Draft Proposed Order (DPO) on August 22 in Boardman. The comment period closed at the conclusion of the public hearing on August 22. The audio for the August 22 Council meeting – including the public hearing – is available on the Council meetings webpage.
