Facilities

The Summit Ridge Wind Farm is an approved wind energy generation facility that would consist of up to 72 wind turbines with a peak generating capacity of 194.4 megawatts (MW), located within a site boundary of approximately 11,000 acres.

On Hold/Under Review/Under Construction/Approved: Phase 1 of construction commenced on August 6, 2020, including modifications to an access road. Construction of the remaining facility components must be completed by August 19, 2023.

On August 17, 2023, the Oregon Department of Energy received a preliminary Request for Amendment 6 (pRFA6) of the Summit Ridge Wind Farm Site Certificate (pRFA6 or amendment request). The Department reviewed the pRFA6 and determined it incomplete and requested additional information from the certificate holder on October 20, 2023.

Based upon the changes proposed for the facility included in pRFA6, on January 26, 2024 the certificate holder submitted a Notice of Intent to submit an Application for Site Certificate (NOI) for a new facility in the same location, the Summit Ridge Renewable Energy Facility. The NOI for the new facility includes the changes proposed in pRFA6. The NOI states that the certificate holder intends to file a Request to Terminate the Summit Ridge Wind Farm site certificate in 2024. The certificate holder has indicated that it will construct only one facility in the approved site boundary for Summit Ridge Wind Farm.

Future updates on the status of Summit Ridge Wind Farm site certificate will be posted to this project page, as they become available.

The Department has created a new project page for the proposed Summit Ridge Renewable Energy Facility and has posted the Notice of Intent on that webpage. Information and updates for the SRREF NOI for the proposed facility will be posted to the SRREF project page.
