Wheatridge Renewable Energy Facility II (WREF II) is a 550 megawatt (MW) wind and solar energy generation facility, including 80 wind turbines and up to 900 acres of photovoltaic solar energy components, to be located within a site boundary containing approximately 12,432 acres.
Construction: Construction of the facility commenced on January 15, 2020, which
will consist of 200 MW of wind energy generating equipment (80 wind
turbines) in Morrow County. Construction of solar facility components must
begin by November 22, 2022 and must be completed by November 22, 2025.
Please note that on May 22, 2020, the Energy Facility Siting Council approved
Request for Amendment 5 of the Wheatridge Wind Energy Facility site
certificate, which created two new energy facilities: Wheatridge Renewable
Energy Facility I and Wheatridge Renewable Energy Facility II. Documents posted

will be located approximately 16 miles northeast of Heppner in Morrow County,
and is approved to include facility components in both Morrow County and
