Wheatridge Renewable Energy Facility II

Wheatridge Renewable Energy Facility II (WREFII) is a 200 megawatt (MW) wind energy generation facility, including up to 80 wind turbines (maximum blade tip height of 499.7 feet), located within a site boundary containing approximately 7,850 acres (12.3 square miles).
Operating: The facility commenced commercial operation on November 25, 2020. 

Please note that the Site Certificate for Wheatridge Wind Energy Facility authorized 650 MW of wind and solar energy generation components. 

​WREFII will be located approximately 16 miles northeast of Heppner in Morrow County, and is approved to include facility components in both Morrow County and Umatilla County. PDF Map​ I Online Map​

On May 22, 2020, the Energy Facility Siting Council approved Request for Amendment 5 of the Wheatridge Wind Energy Facility, which authorized allocation of previously approved facility components into two original site certificates for the Wheatridge Renewable Energy Facility I and the Wheatridge Renewable Energy Facility II. The documentation for the original project can be found on the Wheatridge Renewable Energy Facility webpage.

On November 19, 2020, the Energy Facility Siting Council approved Request for Amendment 1 of the Wheatridge Renewable Energy Facility II site certificate, which authorized allocation of previously approved facility components into an amended and two original site certificates for Wheatridge Renewable Energy Facility II, Wheatridge Renewable Energy Facility III and Wheatridge Renewable Energy Facility East​, respectively.
