What the future holds in store for individuals, the nation, and the world depends largely on the wisdom with which humans use science and technology. And that, in turn, depends on the character and effectiveness of the education that people receive.

The Oregon State Board of Education adopted the Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS) as the new Oregon 2014 Science Standards on March 6, 2014.
Oregon’s Statewide Science Assessments include computer-based assessments at grades 5, 8, and high school, as well as local performance assessments at grades K-High School.
