Shepherds Flat Central is a wind energy facility with 116 turbines and a maximum generating capacity of 290 megawatts, located within a site boundary of approximately 11,769 acres.

Operating. On January 22, 2020, the Council approved a second amended site certificate, authorizing the certificate holder to lower the minimum aboveground wind turbine blade tip clearance for the existing wind turbines from 25 to 21.5 meters for 114 of the 116 turbines (two turbines, T-368 and T-370, were assessed as part of Request for Amendment 2), and install longer turbine blades on the existing towers, known as wind turbine repowering.
