Shepherds Flat South is a wind energy facility with 116 turbines and a peak generating capacity of 290 megawatts, located within a site boundary of approximately 15,928 acres.
Under Review/Operating. On October 7, 2019, the Department received a Request for Amendment 2 to the Shepherds Flat South site certificate (RFA2). RFA2 seeks approval for wind turbine upgrades that would include replacing the wind turbine blades and modifications to the nacelles. The upgrades would require Condition 26 to be amended, lowering the minimum aboveground wind turbine blade tip clearance from 25 to 21.5 meters. On December 26, 2019, the Department received the complete Request for Amendment 2 to the Shepherds Flat South site certificate.

On December 27, 2019, the Department issued a Draft Proposed Order on RFA2. The Department is now seeking written comments on RFA2 and the Draft Proposed Order.

Written comments on RFA2 and the Draft Proposed Order on RFA2 must be received by 5:00 p.m. PST on January 17, 2020, and must be submitted in writing by mail, email, hand-delivery or fax (see below):
