The Oregon Department of Education (ODE) is excited to share that the Request for Proposals (RFP) for the creation of Multilingual/English Learner Resource Bank research-practice briefs is open as of October 3, 2022 and closes November 3, 2022 at 5:00 p.m. (PST)

With the passage of HB3499 in 2015, the Oregon Legislature directed ODE to create an online resource bank for sharing evidence-based, culturally responsive best and promising practices for serving multilingual/EL students and engaging their families. The resource bank will be a comprehensive, curated online repository that will include resources for English learner programs and services. Additionally, the resource bank will have an interactive, community-based best and promising practices component, where practitioners will be able to enage with each other and explore the ways in which they can use resources in support of ML/EL learners.

ODE anticipates the award of multiple contracts from this RFP. The total of up to $100,000.00 is available to support this work with each contract being awarded up to $10,000.00. The amount of each contract will vary based on applicant’s proposal and ODE’s need to create research-practice briefs on multiple topics and sub-topics.

An optional pre-proposal information session to help potential applicants learn more about the RFP and determine their interest in submitting proposals was held on October 11, 2022 from 11:30AM-12:30PM (PST). Please see below for the slidedeck and recording of the session
