STEM and STEAM Education are ways of teaching and learning that emphasize applied, experiential learning and interdisciplinary and convergent instruction. STEM is an acronym for science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. STEAM has the addition of an “A” for arts. Beyond this simple description is a complex pedagogy of integration, relevancy, and application to real-world situations. STEM and STEAM do not represent a single content; instead, they are ideal ways of integrating subjects and engaging students.
